Someone you love:  The HPV Epidemic

“Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic”

Thursday April 27th.  Doors open at 5:30 pm, movie starts at 6:00 pm
Keene High School Large Group Instruction Area

You are invited to join us for a FREE screening of the film “Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic” followed by a panel discussion with healthcare professionals.  The documentary follows the lives of five women affected by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), the widely misunderstood virus that causes several types of cancer, including cervical and throat cancers.

This event will highlight the physical and emotional toll that HPV and cancer can have on our lives and what can be done to prevent cancer. This event is sponsored by the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, the American, Southern NH Area Health Education Center, and the NH Comprehensive Cancer Collaboration.

You can register at:  "Someone You Love"

Scholastic art silver medalists

The Keene High School Visual Arts Department is pleased to announce that the Lauren Barnes and Jacqueline (Jax) Perry earned National Silver Medals in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2017. To receive a national award KHS students first received a Gold Key from New Hampshire before having their artwork entered into the national competition. The Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards is the nation's most prestigious and longest-running initiative for creative teens in grades 7 - 12. Over 330,000 artworks were submitted for adjudication at the regional level from public, private, and home-schooled students. From that pool of artwork only the top 1% were recognized at the national level. For 94 years, the Awards have identified the early promise of some of our nation's most accomplished artists and encouraged them to pursue creative career paths and endeavors.
